Tiësto is bringing Your Shot to the United States for the very first time. Thousands of DJ hopefuls have registered for the chance to learn how to DJ from the best in the business and play massive parties in Los Angeles and Vegas. But only one will be chosen to open for Tiësto at Hakkasan nightclub in Las Vegas and fly to Miami to play Stage 7 at Ultra Music Festival. This isn’t going to be easy for the contestants (or the judges), but the journey for each DJ hopeful is unforgettable.

Thousands registered for the chance to play alongside Tiësto at Hakkasan in Las Vegas and play Stage 7 at Ultra Music Festival. Today, the judges are faced with the challenge of selecting only 30 to move on to DJ training. They’re meeting with the potential contestants at a kickoff party in downtown Los Angeles where they must decide who is going to move on in the next phase of the competition.

It’s the first day of training for Your Shot’s 30 contestants, and there is no time wasted getting started. Jono, the head Your Shot trainer, jumps right into the basics and essential skills to DJ’ing, which is a surprising and sobering reality for many contestants. Bottom line: it’s harder than they thought. With the competition heating up and some BIG surprises along the way; they’ve got to up their game, focus, and skills if they are to have any hope of continuing their Your Shot journey.

It’s the final week of training for the Your Shot contestants before the showcase. With only six moving on in the competition to Vegas, they are all working hard to finish their sets, while coming up with their stage names and keeping their nerves in check before the big day. They get a reality check from the mentors about continuing their journey to becoming DJ’s after the competition, and we learn just how Tiësto came up with his famous name.

It’s showcase day! Four weeks of intense DJ training come down to this one performance. Each contestant has only one shot to impress the massive crowd and the judges to earn a spot to Vegas. For many, this is their first set ever (and possibly their last in the competition). As the crowd files in, nerves are running high amongst the contestants. It’s time to show what they’ve learned and prove that they deserve to continue their journey to becoming DJ’s. Only six will go on to Vegas. The rest will go home.

The final 6 are on their way to Vegas! The bus is a mix of excitement and fear as they have no idea what Tiësto and Steve have planned for them. Arriving at the MGM, they get just a minute to enjoy their penthouse suite when Steve tells them he has one more surprise in store that takes the competition to a new level.

The final 6 only have 2 days to prepare their sets for the biggest pool party on the strip at Wet Republic. Living together and trying to practice in the same Vegas suite is a challenging experience. While they continue to grow closer together, they can’t forget that the competition is getting much more serious. Tiësto invites the finalists to a celebratory dinner which provides them with a much needed break from practice. And Steve helps them decide a crucial component in the competition.

The finalists only get 2 days to prepare for their sets at Wet Republic. Andres drew the first slot to perform so while he’s the youngest DJ in the group (and with the least amount of experience), Tiësto encourages him to use that to his advantage. But when he steps up to play–will his nerves get the best of him, or will his performance be strong enough to win? It’s up to Tiësto to decide.

Sammi (Samtrakk) is the 2nd Your Shot finalist to perform at Wet Republic. From the beginning of the competition, Samtrakk has always impressed the mentors with her passion and determination. And now it’s time for that hard work to pay off when she plays for Tiësto and a packed crowd at Wet Republic. In the end, the judges will decide which one of our first two DJ’s gets eliminated and which is still alive in the competition.

Dave “Darkheart” is the 5th Your Shot finalist to play Wet Republic in Las Vegas. It’s getting down the wire for Tiësto to choose a winner for the Your Shot competition. We’ve reached the end of the first Your Shot USA competition.
